El Port de la Selva has preserved its charm of a seaside village on the Costa Brava and its cultural and architectural heritage.

Medieval village of Sierra de Rodes: In the Sierra de Rodes, we find the ruins of the castle of San Salvador de Verdera (XIII century), with an outstanding view of the bay of Port de la Selva and Llança. Part of the Village is the Monastery of Sant Pere de Rodes and next, are the ruins of the mediaeval town of Santa Cruz de Roda, only a pre-Romanesque style church dedicated to Santa Elena remains.

Monastery and Church of Sant Pere de Rodes: This church represents the tenth century Catalan architecture, but had several modifications later. It connserves remains of Carolingian Romanesque, and Mozarabic styles. In 1930 it was declared a national monument, is one of the cultural assets in the province of Gerona. It can be visited throughout the year, you can find day, night and group tours in different languages.
